Much of the homework that children will do is designed to be completed without their realising that they are in fact extending the learning they commenced at School. This can be researching for information related to topics under study, reading texts and library books or putting `the finishing touches’ to a presentation.
Some work is set on a regular basis – learning spelling in Middle / Senior classes or reading supplementary readers in Junior Classes.
Children may benefit from individual assistance that can be given at home, to overcome a specific learning difficulty and develop a home / School learning partnership. Cases such as these are usually the subject of prior consultation between both teacher and parent.
Homework will be set as a task within a school team (ie Junior, Middle or Senior) and is usually provided by each individual teacher. If you have any queries with respect to homework, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher.
